EU project Women and children's rights in Ukraine - communication component
Organisation Description:
THE EU PROGRAMME “WOMEN AND CHILDREN’S RIGHTS IN UKRAINE”
The European Union actively supports the protection of women and children’s rights, providing technical assistance with a total budget of €14 million via its programme “Women and Children’s Rights in Ukraine” which runs until the end of 2011.
In close collaboration with the Ministry of Ukraine for Family, Youth and Sports and other line Ministries and NGOs, the programme consists of five project components – four of them implemented by international donor organisations (the Council of Europe, the United Nations Development Program, the United Nations International Children’s Fund and International Labour Organisation). These projects aim to focus broadly on building the capacity of Ukrainian counterparts in ending gender inequality in policy formulation, eliminating gender stereotypes in the education system, and introducing nationwide measures to prevent and/or respond to domestic violence.
The fifth project is a communication component implemented by Safege Belgium focusing on the development and implementation of information campaigns aimed at domestic violence prevention, children’s protection and support to equality between women and men in the world of work.
