Building on the two previous editions successfully implemented in 2008 and 2009, the Palestinian Authority, the Al-Muntada Coalition to Combat Violence Against Women and the United Nations in the occupied Palestinian territory will jointly organize the 3rd edition of the Festival to Combat Violence Against Women - multi-cultural event designed as a unique opportunity to bring all voices together to take a stand for women’s human rights.

The festival will feature Palestinian and International artists such as the hip-hop bands DAM (myspace.com/damrap) and G-Town (myspace.com/gtown2002); the flamenco-folk band Zaman (myspace.com/zamanmusicstand-up); comedians from the famous TV programme "Watan Al Watar"; the Syrriet Ramallah Dance Troupe; as well as well the talented reggae artist Masud Sadiki (myspace.com/masudsadiki), who will fly in from Saint Kitt & Nevis for the occasion.

The festival, which aims at increasing in particular Palestinian youth awareness, understanding and recognition of the problem of violence against women as a public issue and a violation of human rights, will take place under the patronage of H.E. the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
