Asia-Pacific UNiTE hosts t-shirt design exhibit for the 16 days of activism

The Asia-Pacific UNiTE team put together an exhibition in the ESCAP building in Bangkok to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25 November. The exhibit features selected t-shirts from across the global that were submitted as part of the global UNiTE t-shirt design competition, produced by young men aged 18-25 to highlight the need to stop violence against women and girls.

The t-shirts proved very popular amongst UN staff and their partners, with so many requests that extra t-shirts were produced and disseminated amongst colleagues eager to spread the word that violence against women and girls can never be tolerated.

The exhibition will last for 16 days to coincide the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence Campaign, which runs from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, until 10 December, International Human Rights Day, highlighting the connection between gender equality and human rights.
