CARE NOW - Say NO to Violence Against Women

CARE NOW - Say NO to Violence Against Women is an advocacy campaign in Thailand jointly launched by UN WOMEN East and Southeast Asia, Central Retail Corporation and Ministry of Justice, supported byThai Health Promotion Foundation. The campaign aims to build awareness and mobilize action to eliminate violence against women. CARE NOW will contribute to the global goal of collecting 100,000 actions by March 2010, and a million actions by the end of the year.

Here's how you can take Action and Say NO:

Make a donation at the donation boxes placed at Central Retail stores

Pledge to do your part to end violence against women – pledge books are placed at Central Retail stores

Participate in upcoming workshops and other activities at Central Retail Stores

Say NO online on our action page. Every name added to the campaign is an action! By adding your name, you are sending a message to governments and decision makers around the world that eliminating violence against women is a top priority.

Everybody has a role to play in combating this global pandemic. This is your chance to make a difference and be heard.

1307 more staff ( 470 male and 837 female) of central group of companies pledge to Say NO to violence against women.

From October 2010 to November 2010, the central group of companies had conducted trainings on legislations on Violence Against Women. 116 staff have undergone the training.

300 T- shirts of the CARE NOW Campaign painted to raise awareness on Violence Against Women. A T- shirt was also painted by HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha and was on display at the Press Conference.

UNIFEM, the Ministry of Justice and the Central Group of Companies, with the support of Thai Health Promotion Foundation officially  launched the campaign CARE NOW: Say NO to Violence Against Women at Central World on 09 March 2010. The CARE NOW campaign kicked off with the activity ‘Paint a T-Shirt to show you Care’, which will run at Central World until March 14, 3rd floor. CARE NOW will raise awareness about violence against women at Central stores nationwide.

100 staff of Central Group of Companies have completed a training on violence against women.

15,323staff ( 4,142 male and 11,178 female) of Central Group of Companies have joined the CARE NOW - Say NO to Violence Against Women Campaign by pleding: not to commit violence against women and children, to speak out against violence and to notify any act of violence to National Hotline 1300.

The Campaign is making significant progress and the following offline actions have taken place:

1. Central retail and the business units have placed 11 Web banners on CARE NOW Campaign linking to the Campaign action page on SAY-NO UNiTE website.

2. 30 Donation Boxes have been placed at branches of Central Retail Stores.

3. Public Service Announcement (PSA) video on Violence against women with a message from HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha, UNIFEM Goodwill Ambassador will be aired on 327 VDO Walls in different branches of Central Retail Stores and 1 LED screen in front of Central World.

4. 200 CARE NOW Advocacy posters have been placed at different stores of Central Group of Companies

5. Pledge Books have been placed in branches of Central Retails stores for staff and customers.
