The Club Zonta of Madrid Km 0 and its networks support the SAY NO - UNiTE campaign

On November 25 at 6.30 PM in the "Teatro Auditorio Ciudad Alcobendas": A delegation from the Club attends the theatre play EUROPAZ performed by the theater group Yeses.

Before the play the City Council of Alcobendas shows a short film about the importance of denouncing violence and the help and assistance that is offered to women in this situation.

During the action period, the individual members of the Club will carry out different activities:

  The gathering of signatures at work places and amongst family members and friends

  The distribution of purple and white ribbons at work places and amongst family members and friends



• 
  

  Online distribution of personalised messages of awareness about the problem that violence against woman and girls represents. The following platforms of communication are employed: email, Facebook, LinkedIn & Twitter, using amongst other the customizable message format MessageHop.com to create messages with impact

  In the messages the receptors are encouraged to sign our action and share the message with their personal and professional networks



• 
  

  Participation in events organized by other organizations and whose objectives are to inform and create awareness about the issue of violence towards women and girls

At the beginning of 2011 the president of the Club visited a shelter for women who eperience domestic violence in Madrid in order to study ways to support their activities economically and in other ways. The shelter is facing major cuts in their economic support from public authorities.

Between June 24 and 26 2011 th Club hosts the Zonta Inetrnational District 29 Conference whos main theme is Gender Violence

All donations that the Club receives between November 25 and December 10 - 2010, will be destined to this shelter for women who experience domestic violence in Madrid. In addition it has been decided that a part of the surplus generated from this Conference will be donated to the same shelter.
