The Zonta Club of Guildford showed The Cutting Tradition to members and guests at their meeting on 2nd May to stimulate a discussion about ways we can help raise awareness and help accelerate the decline of female genital mutilation. The Cutting Tradition is an award winning documentary film produced by Nancy Durrell Mckenna of Safe Hands for Mothers and narrated by Meryl Streep. It explores the cultural reasons for the continuing practice of female genital mutilation and gives a sensitive insight to communities who practice it by presenting views from diverse groups of men and women of all ages.
