Joining other participants across the globe, over 200 men and women walked and danced for the One Billion Rising civic march that began from Gordon Street in Suva to Sukuna Park in Fiji. The local event was led by Fiji Women’s Right’s Movement and UN Women Pacific Representative and staff. Students from Suva International Secondary School also joined force that attracted the whole of Suva. The traffic in the city stopped to signal civic support.  Some professional dancers-cum-marchers brought live to the long parade.

The One Billion Rising Campaign invited ONE BILLION women and those who love them to WALK OUT, DANCE, RISE UP, and DEMAND an end to this violence on the Valentine’s Day. ONE BILLION RISING activated women and men across every country to show collective strength, numbers, and solidarity across borders.
