For Peace Day, 21 September 2012, Peace One Day Presents ‘Global Truce 2012’as part of the London 2012 Festival - a day of ceasefire and non-violence that will hopefully be the largest global reduction of violence ever recorded on one day and the largest ever gathering of individuals in the name of peace.

This celebration features a headline performance from Elton John in his only London show this year plus performances from James Morrison, 2CELLOS and introductions by Peace One Day founder, Jeremy Gilley, Peace One Day Ambassador, Jude Law and Lily Cole. The Wembley concert is an opportunity to showcase the results of the Global Truce 2012 campaign, which has brought together over 1500 organisations from all sectors of society from around the world to mark Peace Day.

Via a series of Global Truce coalitions including the NGO Coalition, ‘Reducing Domestic Violence’ Coalition and the Student Coalition, there will be thousands of events in almost every country by NGOs, schools, student groups and unions, organizations dealing with domestic violence, corporations, government and UN agencies.
