SCAR Club - Students Campaign against Rape

SCAR Club - Students Campaign against Rape is a group of 60 female students who meet once a week at Ngara Girls Highschool in Nairobi with a representative of The CRADLE. There, members discuss issues around violence againsts girls: what to do in cases of physical or sexual violence, how to prevent violence, how to protect yourself, and what rights are there to protect children and girls from violence in Kenya.
We want to give the girls hope.
Members of the SCAR club and students at schools are facing a lot of challenges - from sexual abuse to coming out of a culture where they are exposed to harmful practices like female genital mutilation, early marriage, or extreme cases of poverty. At SCAR Club, girls have the opportunity to speak out. We want to let them know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
