Stop Rape Now Petition, "Get Cross!!"
STOP RAPE NOW PETITION, “GET CROSS!!” Students, staff and faculty from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management and the larger Brandeis Community will participate in “Get Cross” as part of the international 16 Days Campaign. Sponsored by the UN Action Against Sexual Violence In Conflict and StopRapeNow.org, Get Cross is an international effort to stand in solidarity against the use of rape as a weapon of war. The Brandeis community will sign a virtual petition against gender based violence by being photographed making a large X symbol with their arms. The photos will be added to a global photo map and can be linked to Facebook, Twitter and other social networking tools. Photos from around the world will be displayed at StopRapeNow.org as a testimony of solidarity in support of women’s right to live in safety. As professionals in the fields of international development, health policy and international business, it is imperative that Heller students take a united stand in affirmation of women’s right to live in a world free from rape and all other forms of gender based violence. The "Get Cross" petition received 151 signatures from the Heller community.
