Taekwondo Trainers Conduct Special Say No-UNiTE Information Session for Military Men of Tajikistan

On April 6 trainers of the Taekwondo Federation of Tajikistan visited a military unit near city of Dushanbe and conducted a special session to enhance awareness of the servicemen on the Global UN SG Say NO – UNiTE campaign. In particular, they openly explained their position in regard of inadmissibility of violence in the family and society, responsibilities of men for constructing and keeping harmony and healthy relations within own families and their communities. Military unit command staff was also involved as facilitators of the session. As a result 300 signatures were collected for Say NO-UNiTE signing sheet. The Federation intends to continue this practice of working with men to prevent violence against women. Therefore, regular visits to the Tajik military units are scheduled.
