"Take Back the Night" March and Rally, Apr. 15
The ASI Women's Center will host its annual "Take Back the Night" march, rally and speak out from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 15. The public is invited. Admission is free.
"Take Back the Night" is a community-wide protest against sexual assault and violence. The event will start at CSUSM's Library Plaza with performances and speak out at 6:30 p.m. Performances will include spoken word poetry, music, and a survivor testimony. The Clothesline Project, a visual display of shirts made by survivors of sexual and domestic abuse, will also be at the event. A candlelight vigil and speak out circle will be held to honor stories by survivors of violence. Afterward, a march around the campus and immediate community will take place.
"Take Back the Night" has inspired men and women to take a stand against violence and helped those who have been victims of sexual assault with a chance to heal.
