11 October marks the first ever International Day of the Girl. This is a unique time when everyone will be looking at the world through the eyes of the girl child.

To mark this milestone event the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) is asking people to help us build a vision of the perfect world for girls. The World We Want for Girls is a new blog created by WAGGGS to act as this visualisation of the perfect world for girls, created by young people all over the globe.

If you are under 30 years of age, we want to hear your thoughts on what the perfect world for girls would look like. Share your thoughts on our Tumblr site at theworldwewantforgirls.tumblr.com  and tell us:

-          What does a world without violence against girls look like?

-          What does a world without discrimination look like?

-          What does a world where no girl is forced into marriage against her will look like?

-          What does a world without fear look like?

Also download our Day of the Girl fact sheet and activity sheet for more ideas on how to celebrate the day.
