Zonta International Gives $430,000 to the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women

Zonta International will donate US$430,000 to the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women to support a Comprehensive Strategy to End Burns Violence against Women in Cambodia, Nepal and Uganda during the 2010-2012 Biennium. The goal of the project is to reduce acid and other forms of burns violence against women and girls in Cambodia, Nepal and Uganda, where burns violence is widespread and tolerated by society.
The project is being funded through the Zonta International Strategies to End Violence against Women (ZISVAW) Fund which supports international service projects that seek to reduce the incidence of violence against women and girls. Since the inception of the ZISVAW program in 1999, Zonta International has provided more than US$2 million to support 33 projects in more than 20 countries.
