Zonta International is pleased to announce the launch of “Zonta Says NO”, an international campaign to raise awareness of and increase actions to end violence against women and girls around the world. The campaign, which officially began with the launch of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence in November 2012, will continue through December 2013 and will feature the actions of Zonta International’s more than 1,200 clubs in 64 countries to prevent and end violence against women and girls in their local communities. It will also highlight Zonta International’s ongoing efforts through the Zonta International Strategies to End Violence against Women program and through Zonta’s partnerships with the United Nations and its agencies.
The “Zonta Says NO” campaign will bring together Zonta’s 30,000 members worldwide to raise greater awareness of the issue through local service and advocacy initiatives. These activities will be featured on the “Zonta Says NO” campaign website throughout the year as Zonta International seeks to build off the momentum and theme of the 2013 Commission on the Status of Women. The campaign will culminate in November 2013 with common actions taken by Zonta clubs around the world to show Zonta’s collective commitment to ending violence against women and girls.
