The Swiss Committee for Switzerland was established in 1993. Reorganization in 2008 on the basis of a five-year strategy and start-up financing by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). Opening of Executive Office in Zurich.
Mandates: - Information and awareness raising in Switzerland
- Fundraising for UN WOMEN-projects. Emphasis and goals:
Information and raising public awareness as well as fundraising for UN WOMEN projects - currently in Nepal/India and Ethiopia - through own activities, partnerships and media; also involvement of parliamentarians and government representatives (at central and local level) and nationally well-known personalities.
