Altrusa International, Inc.
Alrusa International, Inc., is the oldest professional women's service organization in the US. Altrusa was appointed a UN Observer in 1946, and has been involved with the UN from the onset through our members, Frances Marquis, who was a delegate in 1945 in San Francisco, CA, and Eleanor Roosevelt, US Ambassador to the UN and an Altrusan since 1927.
Altrusa International provides community service, develops leadership, fosters international understanding and encourages fellowship by an international network of executives and professionals in diversified career classifications. Altrusa supports literacy projects through its community service projects and focuses internationally on women's issues.
